Australian and New Zealand Map Society Incorporated

ANZMapS promotes all aspects of cartography to a wide range of potential users.

It is dedicated to exploring and developing the world of maps.

Registrations are now open for the 2022 Mapping the Pacific conference to be held at the State Library of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. Two days of talks, workshops and panels with map experts, historians and curators from 2 – 3 March.

This will be a hybrid event with all onsite events streamed online.

Join us as we examine the traditional wayfinding knowledge of the Pacific community, the history of European exploration, and the mapping of the Pacific through to the 19th century. This conference is presented in partnership with the Australian and New Zealand Map Society, the date.Map Collectors’ Society and the Society for the History of Discoveries.

A conference dinner will be held on the Thursday evening and we’ll be adding related events closer to the date. The full program will be released soon – just confirming the times for our overseas presenters to join us live – possibly in their pyjamas!
