Notes to the Table of Officers of the Australian and New Zealand Map Society

(formerly: Australian Map Curators’ Circle, then Australian Map Circle)

    1. Chairmanship of the Australian Map Curators’ Circle was vested in the Map Curator of the National Library of Australia from inception of the society (1973) until 1978 when, on the adoption of a Constitution, this position was changed to an elected status and the office was changed to that of President.
    2. Prior to the adoption of the Constitution in 1978, there was no official position of Secretary, but secretarial duties were carried out by probably Elizabeth Ellis from 1973 to 1976, and by Gillian Martin in 1977.
    3. The name of the society was changed from the Australian Map Curators’ Circle to the Australian Map Circle in 1982, to The Australian Map Circle, Inc. in 1996, and to The Australian and New Zealand Map Society, Inc. in 2009.
    4. Upon marriage, Ann B. Turner became Ann B. Brown
    5. Judith M. Wells became Judith M. Scurfield
    6. Glenys Faragher became Glenys Young
